Putting groceries in my car in the parking lot of the Walmart on Benson and A when this car full of older folks, Idaho tags, parks next to me. They get out and one of them asks me, "Is this a good store to shop at?"

**blink**

"Well, sir, it's pretty much like any other Walmart you've ever been to so if you like Walmart, then yes, it is."

They thanked me and wandered in to the store.

Kind of odd...

My guess, they being tourists, may have been asking from a "safety - good area - bad area" perspective, unfamiliar surroundings and all that.

Good point. That is the Walmart where I've had panhandlers walk right up to my car before.

That's the WalMart where the homeless guy shot the assistant manager back by sporting goods last year. They have so many problems over there that APD should just open a substation in the store.

Thanks for the warning. I didn't notice anything strange when I was there with the wife and kids last week for a couple of hours. I did stay in my truck while they shopped because I wasn't feeling well...

The last time I was at that wal mart I felt like a victim in the making just by exiting my car. I haven't been back - but have seen it, and the parking lot is full of the same old, same old. Skeezy. Not a place I'd go - and I have no issues with Wal Mart, just that wal mart!

Sadly this Wally World's the closest one to my apartment but I try to go to the Dimond store if I'm in that area.

creeboo - Don't go to any Wal-Marts in the lower 48 then... If you think that one is bad - I can send you to some Wal-Marts that you'll feel that way just driving near it on the main road. And a couple in my old town you might not make it to the Wal-Mart without getting attacked.

I did get an odd feeling at the "Sears mall" which isn't too far away from that Wal-mart. Can't put my finger on it though.

I've been there once. Other than a larger number of street people/panhandlers it didn't bother me and none of them approached me.
