Yep! Took me a minute to figure out what was going on. Kind of a cool experience but I could certainly do without any more of them haha

6.1 up by Willow is what we heard here. First time I've ever seen our building evacuate.

Felt it here in Homer a litle pop then a kind of long little shake. The stuff hanging on a string swayed for over 30 seconds but never rattled glass.

Inattentive - since there has already been a 9.x quake here that wouldn't be the first.

If you live in the Anchorage area long enough sooner or later you will probably be driving down the road when one of these ground shaking earthquakes hit. Your first reaction will be "Now what is wrong with my car". When you come to a red light you will open the car door and look under your car to see what is going on. Of course you won't see anything wrong. As you are getting back in the car that is when you notice all of the other drivers are doing the same thing.

LOL Mutt.... I can only imagine as I thought something was wrong with the boiler in the rental house as it sometimes rumbles a little when it starts up and I am now just starting to use heat inside the house. Was just getting used to the baseboard heat making clicking/popping sounds as they start up for the first time in a long time. I thought it was related to that until I saw everything in the house shaking.

My dad missed the whole shake, he was driving to the hospital when it happened. My sisters on the other hand...freaked. I'm glad we don't get those out here in Western Alaska.
