Im a medical assistant relocating to Alaska. I know I can find a job once there. My question is how can I rent an apartment without a job? Since so many require proof of income. I can show my bank account even pay three months in advance. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to get around this?

You get around this by securing a job before you move. There is a reason why landlords require proof of income.

Don't move up here without s job first. Unless you have enough money saved up for a year's expenses.
Coming from GA, as we did, you will be shocked at price differences.

Rents in Anchorage are pretty outrageous. First, last and deposit will set you back about $2,500 to $3,000. Try the roommate route first. Just be aware of Craigslist scammers either way.

I have looked around. I have enough money to withstand my self for 2 years at least. The pay rate from what Ive seen is similar to Georgia.

Your best bet would probably be to either find a roommate already living here with a job, or use a site like Craigslist to find a landlord that's less stringent, but that has it's own downsides. If the landlord isn't asking for proof of income I'd be worried they wouldn't be a very good landlord, but that's me personally.

With enough money saved up you might be able to convince a landlord you're a safe bet, but they'd be taking a risk if you don't have enough for a full year of rent and all other expenses. If you don't get a job they'd be running a big risk of you not paying rent for your entire lease.

You can also get a room in a hotel, like the Extended Stay America, until you secure a job and have proof of income to get a more traditional rental.

It does have a kitchen:

Anchorage - Downtown Hotel | Extended Stay America

Many years ago I stayed in one for a few months while moving to a different state. It was ok (though expensive) for a short-term place to live.

Good luck

If the pay rate is similar to GA, I'd be hesitant to come, unless you just want to blow through your savings.

When are you moving?
I'll have 2-bedroom available (also currently occupied by medical assistant) in mid-Aug and might consider renting to you, if you pre-pay for 3 months and show proof of substantial savings. (as well as credit/background check and references, of course)
