Good Morning everyone,

I am moving to Alakanuk with the LYSD school district . I will be teaching for a year and from my reading it seems that I might just end up staying. I need some help when I arrive in August. I acquired an air Bnb and would like to hire someone to help me get to shop and get identification. I also would like any suggestions on what to pack to come.... I appreciate any information

lol - I cannot imagine why your comments get deleted.

I drove through your neck of the woods a couple times recently and the wind was blowing like an SOB. As much as I like it down there, I kept thinking how miserable winter must be. Ugh

I'm not sure why either, as I'm usually polite, helpful and informative . It does get slightly breezy here at times. I don't get the wind as bad as in town does in the summer time though due to the granites blocking it. In winter time it's like an arctic hurricane out here at times though.

Anyways, I wasn't sure were Alakanuk even was until this thread. It means wrong way, or mistake village in Yupik. Looks like a fun place to have a jet boat. Learn something new everyday on city data. Good luck with the teaching job OP.

Yeah, I don't waste my time in the political forum much, but I've seen some of what's been deleted. Maybe they're doing you a favor.
