I found an apartment that seems nice.

I dont really know anything about shopping for apartments online...

What should I be looking for when I want to find an apartment online so I dont get ripped off?

Look at it first in person before renting it.

Don't rely too heavily on the IT job market. All of our jobs are becoming automated, cut completely, or sent to India. My job is threatened now due to this whole HP/EDS merger. Not a pleasant place to be. I'm a service level employee working in a datacenter. I'm screwed!

Chenge your major man - IT isn't where it's at. Get into building or alternative energy if you want a traditional career. I'm starting to learn glass blowing. I hate the corporate life with a passion and never want anything to do with it ever again if I have another option. Do something fun. Babysitting a network is boring, intrusive on your home life and doesn't see too much action around here. I babysit the systems and the network and I have only called network support twice in the past 6 months. They sit in the cubicle and read the news or talk on forums, much like I'm doing now.
