Mr. Bob, when you stop tonight check the weather. I'd think twice about driving through Colorado. Post up if you need help with directions on alternate routes.

Yup, we got a good storm that isn't letting up quite yet. Be sure to check those road conditions! I am in Colorado Springs, southern end and our snow melted already. Its just rain now. Great spring storm to green everything up. We have been so dry!
With that being said, I still wish we were on our way to AK! We found out this week that we didn't make the list for Anchorage. We are so bummed!!!!! Looks like it might be Omaha..

I have been following this thread for some time now. And my hats off to Bob for having the guts to make his life an adventure.

I especially like the way you folks are pulling for him. As for the snide remarks..., well, I think you guys have already nailed it, so I will zip it on that note.

Take care, Bob! Listen to your friends on this board! May the Great Spirit be with you and keep you safe on your journey.

I'm don't really need a GPS but I have one for the car. I bought one of the low end Garmin's and it works just fine. Just make sure they have the full set of North American maps preloaded.

Looking forward to Mr. Bob's reply on how he's finding the cheap hotels.

do the North American maps include Canada or do you have to buy that separate??? I know there are some pretty high tech ones out there. We have never found the need to have one but....the more I hear about locating restaurants with the best ratings and price...well...I am wondering if somehow Mr Bob's is helping him with the motel rates?? now that would be sweet!!!
