ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Snowzilla is no more. Municipal officials in Anchorage have given a cease-and-desist order to builders of the giant snowman that made appearances the last three years in an east Anchorage neighborhood. The giant snowman was a favorite for photographers and camera crews from Russia and Japan filmed the temporary sculpture.

yeah there a lot of comments on ADN about this. I think they are just pissed off at him for the other things he has built and the headaches he has given the city. But I think those city people have not much else to do, and what about people who decorate their homes to look like the NYC skyline, that's drawing the same people who gawk and stop their cars. I think it was more a feud with this one guy than them just trying to spoil the xmas season.

Actually, Snowzilla mysteriously re-appeared overnight after it was outlawed by the city & 25 ft. tall this year, to boot! Then a small army of little protesting snowmen & snowwomen appeared marching in protect outside city hall with signs. Check it all out at snowzilla.org Look for pictures in the archives.
