He's definitely crossing in order to make it over to the other side......at least from what I've been able to tell.

Seriously, if you are living in a built up area in Anchorage.... Please don't be one of my neighbors since I don't need another issue to lower my property value or the limited quality of life.

Unless you have plenty of land within Anchorage, I think this might be an issue... Not trying to be funny, but it sounds like you would be far happier out in the valley. A few years ago down the road from my house somebody has chickens and roosters, but it didn't last too long since zoning/code enforcement started to fine them on a daily basis for being in violation.

People come to Alaska for the freedom, but seriously, if you live within the city limits of Anchorage, how much freedom do you really expect over the rights of others... AGAIN!!!! If you have plenty of land, knock yourself out and do it, but if you own/rent an average size home on a small lot... Please think about it before doing it.

I wish my very urban city would share those sentiments regarding the peacocks and hens we have here.

People seem to "come to Alaska for the freedom" as long as they have big box stores, chain restaurants, upscale coffee shops and fancy breweries to help soothe the rough edges of "freedom."

Or there's that funny thing about them drawing bears to the neighborhood. I don't want a bear attractant in the next lot so someone can grow and butcher their own chickens or have fresh laid eggs. Happily our homeowner's association prohibits chicken ownership so I don't have to go further on that one. There was a brown bear raiding chicken coops in south anchorage last year or the one before.

Definitely no roosters in Anchorage but depending on where you live you can have chickens. I thought they recently upped the amount you can own, but I honestly can't remember. It will depend on your lot size and zoning. I'm pretty sure that all neighborhoods with an active HOA you won't let you have them. If you call the planning department over at the Muni and give them your address they will confirm it for you
