Yep I just poped all my gci email to my outlook and we are switching to clear wire, we will keep basic phone with GCI (or may switch to ACS) and we will do either dish or just do net flix as we dont watch sports so we can just rent the shows we want. GCI does not need any more money, I may more my local phone to ACS just out of spite.

I have another thread about forcing GCI to be a utility and fixing there cost per bandwidth and also forcing the to provide service much in the same way as Enstar and Chugach. I would actually like to get a ballot measure going because GCI service is over all not bad but its not worth 160$ but becuase they control the cable lines they are basicly a monopoly (you do have some choices but they are pretty limited so alot of people either have to take it or cut there services, and I dont consider basic phone and internet a luxury in modern society, cable TV is but not communications). I would like to see the cost of 3 mbps internet, cable and phone go to less than 100$ a month and price fix it as that. Or a phone and internet bundle for 50$ at 3 mbps unlimited down loads (of course the concept of limited down loads is a sham to start with). I have to figure out how many signatures I need and how they have to be gotten (paper standing in surface of the moon temperatures outside of grocery stores or if they can be gained electronicly).

we currently pay about $100 for 6 mbps hi speed and cable with premium channels/dvr. $160 for a bundle with gci is a total rip off. i can sacrifice the premium channels since we already got netflix when we get there, but my husband would probably go crazy if we downgrade our internet..

Who do you go with for 6mbps, I could not find anywhere in anchorage that offered that period. I am at a point where I want to discontinue use of GCI just out of spite unless I can get a ballot measure approved.

^ Unfortunately that's with comcast here in California. Apparently I only have either GCI or ACS as my options in Anchorage? That's too bad.
