As some you probably already know, the tallest building in the world is currently going up in Dubai - the Buj Dubai - currently up to 159 floors and still climbing (planned height is a secret but may be as tall as 180 floors - compared to the 110 floors for the Sear Tower).

Now an even bigger building is proposed to be built in Dubai - the Al Burj - which will not only make the old classic skyscapers such as the Sears Tower, Empire State Building etc look puny, but it will even dwarf the Burj Dubai. Current plans call for as many as 228 floors -which will put it at 3,937 ft tall. Originally this monster was intended to be 5,249 (just short of a mile tall) but was scaled back - and may be scaled back again. It will be interesting to see just how tall it eventually ends up.

Have have say though that while I think the Burj Dubai is a gorgeous building, the proposed Al Burj is pretty ugly.

First photo - Al Burj, Burj Dubai, Taipea 101 bulding, Empire State Building etc

Second photo - Burj Dubai going up.

First man made islands shaped like countries, now this.......

"Burj Dubai will be known by many names.
But only a privileged group of individuals will call it home."

Where is this world going? I don't understand this anymore. That's already crazy that someone creates some islands which are shaped like world's map. If u deeply think about the height of this building.. does it make any sense?
