I head to Vegas for my Middle Eastern, Ethiopian, etc. There is a Nepalese restaurant, and Ali Baba's in Vegas. I had to learn to make a few dishes here at home. Kingman has about three places I will eat. Golden Corral isn't one of them. After my first trip to the Bellagio buffet, I was reluctant to eat anything the Corral offered, especially the desserts. Vegas "spoiled" me. I get there about 3 times a month in order to keep my food bone happy.

I am sad to report that the Thai restaurant looks very closed. It's next to the Canada mart gas station. It just looked vacant to me. It was a decent little place.

My understanding is that they're on vacation in Thailand for a few weeks.

Thanks Kdog, and rambrush. I appreciate your information. I was so used to seeing cars there, and the "open" sign in the window. I will be happy to go in when they return. I love hearing the trains go by, and I like their food.

my food taste is pretty basic and includes more fast food than i care to admit to, but i have recently been to Chuy's on stockton hill, near airway, a couple of times and will go back again. i go for the tri-tip which is very good. i haven't seen it outside of southern cal. fyi it is a cut of beef, when whole is 6-12 inches wide, kind of oval, and 2-3 inches thick. usually it is served in thin slices. it is slow cooked on a bbq with seasoning. i have my own special spices i pic up when i go to so cal. chuy's is a az/ca chain that sells it in a sandwich, quarter or half pound meals with beans and tortilla, and they even sell whole tri tips which is vary rare. you can buy it in the groceries around here but there is usually only a couple of pieces. don't even think about buying it at walmart. when un cooked, it should have a thick layer of fat on one side. there are various opinions on what to do with the fat... aka when to cut it off, before or after cooking... i tend to cut some off before the grill. it also makes a nice beef jerky... still trying to find a good marinade though

Chuy's is great! Good beer and margaritas too. I seem to be stuck on the mahi-mahi tacos there. But, I'll definitely try the tri-tip with that recommendation.

unfortunately chuy's in kingman (and lhc i'm told) is a thing of the past... anyone know of some good tri-tip left in kingman?... or, i'll bbq some for you with my special seasoning only available in so cal. being single i don't make it myself because they are too big a cut of beef for me to eat.

Yeah, that's a real shame about Chuy's. Not too happy about that at all. Not sure about any other tri-tip in Kingman. Don't most of the Steak Houses have them, like Kingman Steakhouse, Dambar, and Montana? I'm not a big red meat eater, so I'm not sure. Although, I did try the tri-tip at Chuy's on your recommendation.
