What a lovely 4th of July treat here in Phoenix! Watching the fireworks was nice, and for once wasn't sweating buckets. 75 degrees, love the break.

Thunder and lightning here in East Mesa! Monsoon is officially here! The streets were still wet while driving home but I wasn't in the rain.

It was here on July 4, a little early. There was over an inch at my place that day and I think the airport got rain as well. Last night, the official gauge at the airport got nothing. Looks like the moisture will linger longer than a day this time, though, and maybe the airport and the bulk of the valley will see some precip and with the little wetdown in the east last night, maybe the dust storms will be less severe.

Nice one last night. I was half asleep in bed listening to the thunder. When the thunder stopped and I heard the rain I woke up and realized my passenger window was still down!

Default Yippppeeeeeeee

Finally got some of that liquid gold out here in the west valley last night and a great light show to boot! Woke up at around midnight to the thunder and had to do a quick mental review. Windows closed? check, BBQ covered? check, Loose stuff on patio stowed? check, new puppy not freaking out? double check. Now it's time to just lay there and listen to the sounds of weather music!

Poor dog! Mine jumped after the crackle earlier, but we're loving this coolness outside! I feel bad for all my friends in other places dealing with the heat.

Argh, I was just writing a post saying it was still raining here and the dog and I both got soaked when I took him out, but I lost my post when the power went out.

Began raining for a solid hour or so while I was Downtown Phoenix today, sat in coffee shop and relaxed; felt like East Coast. Heard the East Valley got hammered hard by the same cell.
