Thanks folks, I appreciate the comments, especially favorable ones.

Ritchie, the first and last ones, with my watermarks on them, are HDRs.

Those are good ones... done right. The images are sharp, just enough (not too much or too little) contrast. No weird cartoonish effects. That's the kind of HDR I like and have been striving to make (with a small success rate, as we've discussed previously).
Good job! No wonder those images were purchased!

in the course of doing my part-time job i have driven twice southbound across the new bridge. i drive BIG trucks... however not the biggest... (my employer utilizes macks and sterlings)... i was looking forward to a grand sight of looking down on the dam... somewhat like crossing over the bridge at glen canyon dam... but the solid sides of the k-rail style sides are probably at least 6 feet high... all i could see from my perch was the lake way beyond the dam... (and likewise to the west the river way downstream in the canyon). point is... if you want to get any view of the dam from the bridge you will have to park at the proper parking lot near the dam and take the walkway to the pedestrian portion of the bridge. perhaps when driving one can see the dam over the side IF vour vehicle is at least 10 feet tall... and be going northbound in the right lane... another point... at this time the road is not finished... nevada side is still 2 lane at the hacienda casino up toward boulder city and az still has traffic restricted to 2 lanes for most of the new 4 lanes to mile post 17. i can understand the last minute 'tweeking' but ... they had 7 years to do the project! and they say the bridge was finished 'on schedule'! i seem to remember the first date to have the entire project finished was 2006. anyway... the bridge is open!

Yes we came across Sunday afternoon and it was over so quick hardly realized we were in Arizona. Till....we got to the traffic jam of construction all the way to Rosie's den.

Now for the defense of the road project, they need 70+ deg temp's to apply asphalt. That temp is not scheduled or predicted till Thursday. Thus more delays due to weather.

They were going to call it the Tonto memorial bridge, but Columbia pictures owns the trademark.

Something wrong with naming it after Pat Tillman?

I drove over it last weekend and it was rather uneventful for me also. On my way to Las Vegas I was on the phone and didn't even realize I drove over it until it was over. On the way home I tried to pay close attention but the walls are so high that you can't see much. Ohh well, at least it saved me a ton of time.

Well I don't know what AzDot specifications are for asphalt, but in Illinois, IDOT requires 40 degrees and rising temperatures for asphalt spreading.
