Hi,

I don't know where you are, but I travel to Phoenix metro for work, and read the papers. Mesa, IMO, is, to be avoided. I would never live there. Gangs, crime, (did I say gangs?), bad areas, you said it.

I like to always stay SOUTH OF BASELINE and I think really anything east of Lindsey in Ok as long as you are SOUTH OF BASELINE. No area is immune to crime but I feel safe in those areas.

Default Probably best avoided

My aunt and uncle just moved out of far east Mesa. Apparently there are problems there. Seems like if you live in a metro area with riff-raff, it almost always will expand out into formerly "good" areas. A sad fact.

I havent had any or seen problems with east Mesa, other than some parts look old, but I guess if people are prejudice against old or believe old breeds bad than they may not want to live here.

Old, in some cases, can mean very good. I love older homes with hardwood floors and crown molding. Much more character than the new Mc. Mansions they are mass producing in this place.

That being said, many of the “older” homes here aren’t even that old. Many were built in the 1960’s with junk material and sub-par building codes. Maybe it was because this place was so desolate back then, but unfortunately, many of the “older” homes here in the Phoenix area seem to be junk.

I lived in Mesa 20 years ago and we built our house a couple of blocks away from the Dobson High School. It was a great neighborhood. No problems with crime, or gangs. But that was 20 years ago, so I don't know how it is today. Dobson High School was a great school.

I can tell you they have a sewer smell over there they can't get rid of and Dobson Ranch is not the Dobson Ranch of even 10 years ago.
It's too bad it was the In thing back then not now.
