Have visited kingman several times. Thinking of making a huge change and have considered kingman. Since there are not many blacks there, was wondering what the racial climate is. When we visited was treated very well,
but not sure about a permanent stay. Helllooo any blacks in Kingman? Let me know if its cool or uncool for deeper tanned americans. lol

There's not a huge black population in Kingman as you've noticed, but there are some. I've known a few and seen others around town including kids who went to my kid's school. I really don't think you'll find much in the way of discrimination there. Undoubtedly there you will find the occasional redneck moron that may make some comment out of ignorace. But certainly nothing organized or frequent especially if you stick to the better neighborhoods. If anything I'm guessing people will go out of their way to be nice to you because you will be such a minority there.

Thanks Kdog for your input. I'm really looking for different scenery. Been on the east coast all my life and I love the west, southwest. Not sure we'll be making the move, but doing plenty of research. Thanks again for responding.

Come on down and enjoy Kingman should not be any problems in my mind. The unemployment rate is going to rise due to the hospital closing and all employees due to be layed off soon.

Just trying to comprehend - there were two hospitals there and one bought the other out or what? Was one private and one not? Or is this some other medical corporation coming in and shutting out the only medical facility in Kingman?
