This is an important issue folks. The state has not been providing the funds they promised under Prop 301 which raised the sales tax to give more money to the schools. As everyone knows, AZ ranks near the bottom on spending per student and the quality of education in this state is usually a factor when people are deciding to move here or not.

So... if the state has to come up with the money as well as interest on the money not received, this could put AZ in the hole for 1.7 BILLION and where do you think this will come from? Your pocketbook. A hefty raise in taxes. This should be interesting. If voters will not raise taxes, then what? And Jan Brewer will be gone by then, leaving the whole mess to the new gov.

Several of the GOP Gubernatorial candidates want to eliminate the income tax completely. I'm not sure how this will be paid for on top of that. I would expect that many of the "loop" freeways may end up tolled.
