Take it from a young guy who moved from Florida to Arizona (although I currently live in Alaska) you will learn to love the outdoors Arizona has to offer. So much variety and so many places to choose from and Prescott is closer to all of them. If you want to enjoy life pick Prescott o flagstaff, if you want to be hot and stuck in traffic pick Phoenix. Don't say I didn't warn you.....

Yes the high country is wonderful even in the summer. The White coat of Snow make Flagg, Payson and Showlow, AZ. (winter) a winter wonder land. Be warned these are relatively small towns so that may be a culture shock. Just a different way of life.

Phoenix hot in summer, no really hot! this year we have seen our typical triple digit highs. At a flip of a switch, around late October it is down right nice. This is not South Beach or LA. Your entertainment her in the Valley my be perceived limited.

My wife and kid around and say we live in a Fish Bowl, because of the rim around Phoenix.

It depends what you want to do!

I lived in Boca Raton Florida for 15 years I have lived in Arizona for 7 years now. All factors considered Arizona is the hands down winner.
1. better weather(7 months are better than Florida and the summer is more bearable than Florida)
2.closer proximity to weekend vacation areas(california, vegas, mexico and N arizona)
3 less bugs
4 friendlier people( more people with core family values live in Az)
5 better housing available in AZ (newer and cheaper)
6 cheaper food costs due to having over a dozen different food stores in AZ as opposed to 1 major monopoly in Florida (Publix)
7 This is the reason I moved (no natural disasters in Arizona where in Florida you never no when life or property will be ruined by a hurricane or a tornado)
