I have been in the Boston area for the last four years attending college. When I graduate next May, I plan on heading out west, possibly to AZ.

I grew up in CA, (Santa Ynez Valley) where the weather is near perfect year round. Never too hot, nor too cold. Unless I move back in with my parents, I cannot afford the cost of living here. From what I understand, AZ has lots of different climates and is very beautiful, as I remember driving through it when I moved out to the east coast. If I cannot live in CA, I feel AZ would be the next best thing.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions as to places that might suit my needs for relocation. Safe communities, as well as not overly priced, are things I need to consider.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Your work would likely be the primary factor determining where you live, but, for what it's worth, I like: Bisbee, Flagstaff, Prescott, and Sedona (alphabetical order to be fair).

Indeed, your job and budget should be your primary concerns. Phoenix and Tucson are the major metro areas, hence the largest pool of employment opportunities. Cost of living is quite high in Flagstaff. The locations mentioned previously are very nice, but not necessarily your best location, depending on your career.
