Lawmakers in California are doing their best to put Huy Fong, the company that makes Sriracha hot sauce, out of business. The Yahoo article below reports on some of the negative ramifications it is having on the local food economy.

Hot mess: Sriracha shipments halted until January; may result in shortage

In a previously read article I read that elected officials in Pennsylvania and Texas have reached out to Huy Fong and exploring the idea of relocating the company. Arizona wouldn't be too far of a move for Huy Fong. Unless CA takes a different tune they could be on the move.

I would love to see Huy Fong move to AZ. It would be nice to see Made in Arizona on a bottle of Sriracha. More jobs and revenue for the state won't hurt either.

I am reaching out to my federal, state and local elected officials to air my support of bring Huy Fong to AZ.

Humph. Irwindale is a gravel pit in the midst of the San Gabriel Valley. There wasn't anything there of redeeming value last time I was through . . . . I think one of the comments on that page said it fairly well.

Yes absolutely, he should move to Arizona. He would have plenty of space for his company here and it would create more jobs. How do we go about convincing him that our state is the one to go to? Do we write Huy Fong directly?

Too; at least in Phoenix and Mesa, we have many "Asians" here who'd probably support Huy Fong.

It's not just Asians that support Huy Fong, I'm a white guy that loves the stuff along with most of my friends.

Sriracha is in all kinds of restaurants. They could put the factory next to some of these smelly cow fields, maybe it will make the cows smell better. I can't make this stuff up people.

I better go stock up!

Love these NIMBY folks...in Las Vegas, there is a huge pig farm, yes, it smells, it used to be in the middle of no where, until urban blight encroached on the farm, and developers made tract houses there, people bought the houses, then, complained about the pig farm!

Is this a legitimate issue? I don't know...can a production of a food be so toxic to the environment that it causes health problems? If it was so bad, employees would be unable to work there...

What do you put the Sriracha on that makes it such a hot item?

Use it in place of Tabasco sauce and you will understand. Make some eggs over-easy with some on top. Fantastic.
