Morning ..

Finally selling our home here in Virginia and headed back to Arizona the end of this month.

We are fortunate to have family in Casa Grande that we can stay with for some time to check out different areas to live.

On my radar now is Maricopa. In contention still is Casa Grande and even northwest Tucson which we have lived in before. We are retired however I may still work in the banking field somewhere.

In searching this forum I find little current info on Maricopa outside of what my brother in law has mentioned. He did state the prices are great but there is little infrastructure?

Based on various websites appears there is alot of inventory and some really good buys. However being the skeptic why is that?

We do like nice restaurants, shopping other than WalMart etc.but do not mind a little commute. It appears this area is close to more upscale areas of Phoenix which could be of some benefit.

I posted previously about Casa Grande vs Red Rock and received some good info. Now looking more north would any of you consider Maricopa given a choice?

Looking for 4 Bed, a pool that does not consume the whole back yard and the front house does not almost sit on the sidewalk. My hubby like to play golf and we like to walk our doggies. <$239K

Thank you in advance of your comments.

The feed lots and casino traffic. Also the area grew from a few hundred to tens of thousands in just a few years. Many found the drive was too much even with lower Pinal County taxes. The jobs are all in Phoenix Area. Retired and without breathing problems I would pick the New Maricopa with its cookie cutter communities, but for a more serein lifestyle, go with Casa Grande. Also Maricopa government, the last time I was there, was still in the old city hall police station.

Do you really want to live in either of those cities? Yuck!!! IMO Yuma and Parker are the only two cities in AZ that are more unpleasant to live in. Why not Bisbee or Sierra Vista or Oracle? But suit yourself.

All about perspective I guess. I have lived in all the named cities except Oracle. Completely different cities with different weather and terrain. I would go for any of them except Sierra Vista, unless I was retired Military. Well, maybe not Parker either. That is a hole.

Default Lookers Remorse..

Thank you all for your comments. Well...I am trying to like Casa Grande from a far as we have family there. Maricopa was a suggestion of my brother-in-law because of the price of homes and we would not be too far away.

I am cursed with the strong desire to have beautiful surroundings once you step outside your castle. Our home in NW Tucson had dynamite views of Mt Lemmon from many directions. It was cooler and had more of a season change.

Since our goal is to live no more south than NW Tucson I was hoping for a change that Casa Grande or Maricopa would be of interest however I am not feeling the love. Of course all could change once I get there

My husband is in route as we speak to Casa Grande to drop off a car and I have given him some areas to check out. He actually is more critical so this will be interesting

I think you will prefer it over the Monopoly Money Houses in Maricopa.

There are "city" homes with mostly small yards. Everywhere.
Then there are HOA's with all sorts of rules.

And then there are the "horse farm" homes. Larger yards. But not near downtown. And you don't need a horse to live in one.

Depends if you want to be 5 minutes to the nearest grocery store. Or not.

Coolidge and Florence areas have some nice homes scattered about that have more of an open feeling.
You also have to think about taxes, water, sewer and such. And the availability of such.
