This area really does intrigue me. From the first time I saw Laughlin/Bullhead City. It seems to have a lot of untapped potential. The setting is honestly great... and the Needles highway (I-40 I think) heading into Southern California is a beautiful drive... outstanding desert scenery.

In fact, I'm looking to head up there from Phoenix and check out Bullhead soon... as a potential relocation if and when I choose to leave the big city.

Hope things improve in the area, but there's not much OP or anyone else can do. Just be happy for what the city is rather than isn't I suppose. The city government is the one who has to take charge and make positive changes.

[quote=Hawk J;38039165]A few more Bike Runs per year would probably help the local towns business...

There was a shoot-out in one of the casinos in Laughlin (across the bridge from Bullhead City) between the Hells Angels and the Mongols, some years ago. Some things to consider if you want to attract the biker crowd.

^^^ So are you saying we should promote more biker shootouts? LOL Maybe we could make book on odds on the winning team?

I remember that. It happened at Harrah's in 2002. No innocent folks were injured.

That year 2002, AVI Casino had good crowds at Dirtbike races & the jewelry show setup outside by the rv park.

There were many of the Bike Run folks who stayed in Avi RV Park. We were there in our motorhome.

I talked to a couple of old timers here in Bullhead a few days back and; they def say this town's getting worse with the crazy traffic in 95 and it ain't just snowbirds either. They told me this really starting coming down in 2013. But the scary part is our crazy high commercial vacancy rate. It doesn't make any kind of sense to me.

More traffic but less filled storefronts huh . Maybe ripe for opportunity to some. But more people doesn't necessarily mean more money if those people don't have jobs .

Gosh this town and area interests me for some strange reason!

Agreed. The job and wage thing are scary here and, not just in Bullhead either. Like another poster said; Kingman lost a bunch of good jobs with the mine closing and I know a dude who drove from here to that mine every day.

I took a trip around the Southwest and not one town has the number of empty buildings as BHC. Gallup, NM isn't doing great, but their downtown is slowly renovating.

Cities like Taos and Durango, with far smaller populations have much more business.
