They're just giving you your own money back. If you overpay in any state you'll get a refund. As an AZ resident and taxpayer, thanks for the interest-free loan!

I understand that and desire no state income tax. However, the lunatics in D.C. always want to shake me down for more. At least Arizona gives me back some of my money even if I preferred they leave me alone to begin with.

Many other tax-as-holy-sacrament states also shake down for more. I make out better in Arizona than I have elsewhere.

True. I always owe everyone unfortunately, including AZ. A little "bonus" would be nice.

Update: As of today, the status on the aztaxes.gov website now says to allow a minimum of eight weeks from the date the return was filed.

Feels like the 1990s again!

I e-filed Sunday and see this message when I check

"The refund process is to be completed on 2/13/2015. Paper refunds mail within three business days from this date. Direct deposits are in your account within two business days from this date."

A one week turn around is awesome, I didn't have to file taxes in the 90's but I can't imagine it being that quick!

The status changed on mine yesterday afternoon. Process completed on 2/11...

I suspect I just filed so early this year they hadn't started processing them yet, and now they're back on track.

With that kind of a wait, I'd say it's more like the 1890s when you had to rely on the donkey cart to carry the mail. In today's electronic age and filing being done on line, there's absolutely no excuse for anything to take that long! Don't believe the b.s. the IRS is giving about being "overwhelmed by early filers". What a load of crap! Today's technology has the capability of providing instant refunds regardless of how may people filed early ... but technology is only as good as the people who program and/or manage it.
