Hello,

I'm looking to relocate to Arizona and I just can't seem to grasp the life style there. I grew up in NYC, military, lived in many places throughout the states and I have never had any issues finding a house. I was just in AZ last week, driving around looking at houses. In the whole week I was there, I was only able to schedule 1 showing and I drove by another house that was for rent and the owner happened to be working on it outside.

Every realtor I called, never answered the phone. Some only worked through text and would never reply in a timely manner. They all seemed like they were doing me a favor and that the houses were for free... Hardly anyone wanted to take the time to show the houses.

I have a 20ft enclosed trailer and that proved to be a challenge to find any HOA free house. Most won't let me park the trailer on the street or driveway.I don't think that's much to ask, is it? I've already ruled out the whole northern and north west region. The only towns I liked were east Mesa and San Tan Valley. The only thing I liked were all the orange and lemon trees around the city. I guess I had the wrong impression of AZ, I'm a country person and I like my freedom. I just never thought it'd be so hard to find a house in AZ that suits my needs. Buying is out of the question, I already own a house in MO and I'd like to get to know the area before I buy.

My budget is $1800 to include utilities, the wife wants a pool and I need a place to park my trailer. I don't need or want to be close to the city. Can anyone help me? I'm currently 7 hours away and It would be much easier if I could get the assistance of someone familiar with the area. I'm willing to pay for your time... Thanks

When I was looking for a house I had to beat the realtor vultures away with a stick. I can give you the name of the one I used if you like, he was pretty attentive to my needs.

Maricopa is cheap because if you have to work, it sucks living there. If you are retired, do look around Maricopa and Casa Grande, there are great deals out there.

Also, If you need more input, try posting this in the Phoenix sub-forum, you will get a lot more acitvity!
