I really don't know. Only driven thru it. And that was in the 80s.

Look at it from Google Earth. It is not a city or town. It is a spot in the road. Nothing wrong with that. But diversity? Population 38!?

It is an off grid paradise for the most part. People out there have to be fairly self sufficient as public services and utilities are not really available. Is that what you're looking for?

What kind of diversity could you hope for in a town of 38 people?

Default Small town with diversity

I live in the village area of Concho. One of the things that attracted us to Concho was the fact that it is about the only small town in the White Mountains area that isn't predominantly Mormon. Not that I have anything against them but socially and in some of the schools, if you are not LDS, you are an outsider.

The Concho area is approximately a 20 mile radius from the village. Ignore what Wikipedia says about population. The town has about 900 people in the actual town. How many live out in the rural areas is beyond my estimating powers. As for lifestyle, the town attracts active retirement couples to families. The rural areas attract the same plus those that want to live off-grid and more privately.

The town has a couple of restaurants, a k-8 school, convenience store, and an organic food store. There is a fire department in town plus city water and sewer services. There will be a Family Dollar store opening this year and the owners of the organic food store plan to expand their organic farm.

If you are asking about racial diversity, the town has mostly white and hispanic residents but there are african-american and asian residents too. As far as I've seen, there has not been any issues with new people moving into town or even any of the gay families having any issues with neighbors.

There is more information about Concho at Concho Arizona - a rural small town on a lake in the White Mountains offering a healthy environment for retirement, families or ranching with affordable land for sale..
