Thanks!

Suddenlink or Frontier. It's like Clinton or Trump. I hear Frontier sucks worse.

Sdnlk bundles a phone with some of it's internet and tv packages. Frontier internet is slow old style DSL.

What is a land line? I cut that cord in 1991.

Smile Straight Talk Home phone

If all you require is voice (No Data) ,give the Walmart Straight Talk Home Phone a try. I've had one for three years now and it even works during a power outage for up to two hours. It uses the Verizon cell system. Cell towers have generators and battery back up so they are are as reliable as a landline IMO.

Walmart has discounted them and selling it for $25 including the first month of service -which it $15/mo Unlimited talk, voice mail and all the other bells and whistles. It including GPS to let the e911 ops know your location. You plug in your cordless (or regular) phone to use it. If you are a Verizon customer, they use the same base unit as Straight Talk but charge you $30/mo for the same service.

Sorry if this sounds like a commercial but I've never been more pleased with a product. The quoted monthly cost for basic LL service was almost $40/mo and almost 50% was fees and taxes and they could never get the billing right.
Another nice feature - You can take it with you where ever you go as long as you bring some sort of handset phone .

Possibly a Plan B, MinnJim?

If you only need "voice" service, consider Sprint's Phone Connect. I have had mine for a few years and it has performed flawlessly. The only connection required is electricity (short term battery back-up is included in case of a power outage).

Also, you never need to pay or make arrangements when relocating . . . just unplug and carry to new location. Great for Snowbirding or House Sitting, etc.

Another plus . . . only about 25 bucks a month including all the taxes and add-ons for totally unlimited service, both local and long distance.

Good Luck.

I've been using Frontier for a few years now, I'm happy with it.

Magic Jack is cheaper if you have internet. About $45/yr, and you can use your home phones. You can bring the jack with you on trips.
