We ALMOST went there yesterday...but opted to stay at the in-laws house and play dominoes while enjoying the storm/power outage. Horrible when people lose their lives like this. Stay aware in the high country during monsoon season, those streams are prone to flash flooding. Just walk down the creek a ways and look how high in the trees the weeds have stuck.

That certainly was a much better choice on your part.

We never really know what the monsoonal rains are exactly doing way upstream until they hit. Going into some of these creeks and swimming holes can be risky enough without going in during these times.

Well...we are not your typical "Cidiot Flatlanders"...although we did have to convince my wife during this trip that we do fit the moniker of Flatlanders. We know the dangers up there and how to avoid or deal with them. I blame some of these social media accounts on Facebook for encouraging people with no common sense to go exploring the wild areas of our state. Everyone should be able to enjoy the Great Outdoors...but you need to know what you are getting into.
