Being from the North ... Michigan/Ontario I have ALWAYS wondered this when travelling to Mexico VIA air to all-inclusive resorts.

Do people from Arizona or other states bordering Mexico drive to resorts in Mexico for significant savings on their vacations? I imagine traveling like this would be quite inexpensive because the most expensive part of this vacation.

Thanks for the input, YouTube only takes me so far

Used to go to Rocky Point aka. Puerto Penasco, several times a year. With the current border issues, I'm going to San Diego instead. I miss the ambience of Rocky Point but I would miss my head a lot more if something were to happen. Different country, different rules.

We drive to Rocky Point every once in a while. The trip is uneventful and the risk is grossly overstated. But, I don't think I would want to go too far into the interior. Roads, traffic, etc are not the same as the US and accidents/breakdowns can be a major headache in any foreign country like Mexico. Flights from Phoenix are cheap so that would be my preferred way.

We have a home in Cholla Bay but we hav cut down on the number of times we go. Our Mexican neighbors tells us to convoy in the daytime and once in Puerty Penesco to stay on the main roads. The restaurantw ar safe and the food is greaat.
