Arizonans, I need your opinion. Where can one find the BEST, most AUTHENTIC Mexican food in Arizona? Feel free to mention specific restaurants or just general areas...
Tamales, flan, horchata, elotes, mango-chili paletas, frothy Mexican hot chocolate..
MEXICAN FOOD ROCKS!

One of my favorites is Los Dos Molinos in South Phoenix. Authentic, one cook, makes all of the meals, all of the time.

Most of their dishes are rather spicy. It's a family owned operation and when you're in the restaurant it feels like you're in someone's house.

La Indita

and El Guero Canelo for the best Sonoran hot dogs this side of the border!

Baja Fresh is my personal favourite - as the name suggests everything is cooked from scratch and boy is that stuff good!

Baja Fresh Mexican Food, Baja Fresh Mexican Grill (http://www.employeenetwork.com/bajafresh.html - broken link)

Cicelia's in south tucson near raytheon is the absolute best. Its ran out of a trailer so you won't see a bunch of "gringos" hanging out there. People tend to think they'll get sick.
Its clean, but if you don't know spanish..its kind of hard communicating your order. Not to the owner,Cicelia, but to her helpers.
Excellent red chile burros and mi le nesa tortas.

I have this problem with people selling tamales in the grocery parking lot. Does anyone know how to say "I'm a vegetarian" or "I don't eat meat"? Okay, I know some of the best is made with lard and chicken stock. But I really love Mexican and try to shut my eyes and ears to it!

Seriously, because the place you mentioned sounds like a place I should stop by next time I'm in town!

I like El Ray Cafe in Globe, La Paloma in Solomon, and El Charro and Casa Manana in Safford.

One of the best places in Phoenix, in my opinion, is Garcia's on 35th Ave and Thomas Road. The food is so good, huge servings and the best service. Check it out: Welcome to The Original Garcias

No list of this type is complete without "Midway Molina's" on Belvedere in Tucson. Run by the same family for more than 40 years. Not the most atmosphere available but always clean, and more important, delicious.
