Im wanting to move back, I guess I miss the greenery. I am not looking forward to the heat this summer. This is my 2nd summer here. The house is heating up already. Its 85 and Im miserable in here. I also feel land locked, even though the beach is only 5 or 6 hours away. That still feels kinda locked to me.

well I came to Arizona in 1975 stayed maybe 2 years returned to Washington, the jobs went bust and I returned to Arizona. Been here since. nice to go back up to visit and return here though.

I moved to Prescott in 1997 but am now back in WA. I did not regret my move to AZ: I LOVE Prescott and that part of the state, What happened was that in my last few years there the damned Californians were moving to Prescott by the droves, and I'm sorry, but Californians DO NOT improve the areas in which they relocate to. That was one of the main reasons for returning to WA. Also, when I left Prescott in 2004 there were something like 25,000 homes slated to be built within 20 miles. Prescott was fast losing it's small town appeal. Hopefully the housing bust of the last few years took it's toll on those homes. I live now in eastern Washington and have no regrets for moving back.

I have never "lived" in either Eastern Wa or Prescott...although I have envied the folks that live in Prescott. Isnt Eastern Wa and Prescott very close the the same climate and topography?

SE washington is high desert type terrain NE is similar to Prescott in my opinon just not as much snow in prescott

I don't understand how anyone could move from an ocean state to an inland state. Maybe I put more stock into the ocean thing than others.... A state with beautiful greenery, mountains, and rivers. I guess if those things don't interest you, then 'ever *** city is just the same':

Well, as someone who is planning on moving from Seattle to SE Arizona let me chime in.
There is no doubt Washington is an absolutely gorgeous state. We love Eastern Washington - and spent many vacations there back in the days when our kids were young - but the winters are just far too cold for us.
In regards to Seattle (and Western Washington in general) - well, I'm of the opinion that when the weather is nice, there is NO PLACE in the "lower 48" that is more beautiful. Problem is the weather is just not that nice that often. The summer weather is lovely, but far too short for our liking - and far too much of the years is cloudy, damp and cool - and after 35 years, I'm more than ready to move on.
In short I agree with a saying I read once:
"Living in Seattle is like being married to an extremely beautiful woman...
... who always has a headache."

I too live in the Great Pacific Northwest. I grew up in Southern California, as an adult, I moved to the Apple Valley area in the deserts of eastern California. I moved to the Oregon Coast 20 years ago because I couldn't afford a home in Cali.

The weather is not only dismal, it's depressing. Rain, cold and wind. It's like that virtually 10+ months per year. At least on the coast it is.

Much like you fine folks in the desert "suffering" from all the sun and warmth, we in the Northwest have our issues as well.
The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence syndrome. It's always better "over there".
For me, it's time to move on, to do something else, to do it somewhere else.
I've always liked the beauty of the desert so I'm coming to Arizona and if I find I don't care for it, then I'll move on until I find someplace I like. Someplace I can enjoy the outdoors more often.

I don't think I could live in Eastern Washington due to the winters either, for what it's worth.
Seattle of course doens't have the same nasty winters Spokane has.
Nice is relative to one's own preferences, so I'll leave it at that.
Come back here in a couple years and tell us what you think of AZ. For me when I moved to Seattle I actually liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I hope your experience with moving to Phoenix is just that.

I don't think I could live in Eastern Washington due to the winters either, for what it's worth. 
Seattle of course doens't have the same nasty winters Spokane has. Nice is relative to one's own preferences, so I'll leave it at that.
