What Arizona souvenirs would you recommend? I'd prefer regional food or drink items, instead of things that might get tossed in the closet forever. Cactus Candy is on my mind, but I've also heard it isn't all that good. Thanks in advance.

cactus candy is OK

they sell mini cactus planters that can be a nice reminder

i'm having trouble thinking of something unique that is food/drink that screams AZ, although I know we have somethings

maybe check out the olive oils from the Queen Creek Olive Mill, Poore Brothers Potato Chips, any of the local beers or wines

another consideration is any of the "A*# Kicking Hot Products" - they are made and packaged by southwest specialty foods in Goodyear - they have a variety of hot sauces, peanuts, popcorn, bread mixes (maybe get their beer bread and a bottle of four peaks to use in the mix), along with t-shirts, etc

Hot Sauce, Salsa, Snacks and Spices from Southwest Specialty Food, Inc.

Queen Creek Olive Mill

Four Peaks Brewery - Tempe, Arizona

Arizona Bistro and Winery Kokopelli

The little cactus plants/planters are fun.

Goldwater's Salsa (lots of flavors).

My kids got scorpion paperweights several years ago and they still have them, so here's another vote for that. Old Town in Scottsdale has a few shops that we like to browse for souvenirs.

Would AZ highways be a good magazine for pictures of AZ?
I miss AZ daily, and I keep stumbling upon the same old pictures on the internet.
How big of a magazine is it, about how many pages?

I love the little store on the corners near the Rusty Spur. There's one right next door and one kitty corner from it. I got some very cool Cactus coffee cups. I've picked up a few hand made tiles for people to put in their homes (if I know they have SouthWest decor.) Cactus candy is actually pretty good. They have margarita candy too, made with real tequila. The hot sauces are great gifts. You can get some small bottles that will pass through TSA OK. I love the ironwood carvings if they are done well. There are inexpensive blankets. (I don't work there -- I just left those stores... LOL... I'm on my way to the airport this afternoon to visit some friends on the coast.)
