There are many many international students at ASU. I believe they have an office there to assist international students with info about housing (on campus and, perhaps, off) as well as career services office that might be able to give you some direction to part time jobs in your field. There are also various clubs/organizations on campus where you can meet peopel with similar interests -- helps with that "survival" part.

Lots of food service on campus and in the immediate surrounding area, includng many ethnic restaurants.

Do you mean Houghton the company? I can't help you with info there.

Thank you for replying me. It was really helpful. However, Still I m having some issues. My parents are going to pay for my Tuition fees. But, I have to manage my living cost. I was planning to work part time, in a dinner or a gas station or what so ever. To tell you the truth I have no idea how is the community in that area. Will it be a problem for me since I am a Sri Lankan? And is it an area with violence or a peace full area? If you can please be kind enough to explain how the ASU stands for Automobile degrees? The validations and recognition.

And Hougton should be replaced by Tempe. thank you

If you are talking about the engineering school (all sorts of degrees out of there), it is very good. Tempe is the most diverse community in the Valley in terms of ethnicity. As far as getting part time work, I don't think there would be an issue based solely on where you come from. There are part-time jobs ON campus as well, with the University, though they do not pay the same as off campus, if the rules are the same as when I was in school. I would think the international student office would be of help to you as far as the paperwork, etc., for foreign students to get work.

Tempe has an issue with property crimes (particularly closer to the University), but not so much personal ones, so in that sense it is a safe place. I don't think you would have a problem.
