U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva, a Democratic congressman from Tucson, is calling for businesses to avoid Arizona for their meetings and conferences.

In these difficult economic times our own representative is calling for additional financial harm to our own economy. Absolutely reprehensible!

Clearly, the immigration bill does not fit with his agenda but to call for financial harm of his own people is unforgivable! So, this is how he pays people back for putting him in office???????

I will most certainly remember to ban Raul at the ballot box in November. It is time for a change!

While I agree with you, you need to understand that not everyone does. Grijalva is not going anywhere. He represents the views of the "base" in his district just like the right-wingers represent the views of theirs. Whoever gets nominated in these right and left-gerrymandered districts gets elected. It's the same in every state. There is very little middle ground or reasoning left in Congress.

REPREHENSIBLE . . . a more appropriate term would be banned.

Unfortunately, Grijalva is a perfect example of a "first person singular" elected official with a personal agenda.

He is representing himself and a select few, NOT the Citizens of Arizona.

one of the few democrats that i voted for in the past, mo udall, should be turning over in his grave at what grijalva has done in that district. grijalva needs to be voted out of office, along with giffords.

politics just pisses me off....often, politicians seem little better than pimps and prostitutes to me....having to compromise yourself to get anything done....I'm not an expert, though.....

can somebody knowledgeable here very briefly list what's "wrong" about Giffords and Grijalva and then play devil's advocate and list what somebody would say they're "right" about?......specific points, pro and con, like a debate....thanks

There is a difference between supporting or opposing a law with the powers of an elected official has with their vote and calling for a boycott of businesses in the district he was elected to represent. I highly doubt there are any residents in his district that support the loss of revenue and the economic harm a stupid boycott might cause.

Just add this big idiot to the list of fools who vote to throw hard working retail/tourist trade workers out of jobs in Arizona.
