I am a Concrete Contractor from Ohio and was wondering if anyone knew how the Construction Market was in Arizona right now. Are there any hotspots for Residential or Commercial construction? We do all flatwork and decorative concrete. It's pretty slow up here right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not in the industry... just follow it.

New home construction is off about 30% over the last 2 years, and decelerating fast.

Tons of new shopping centers are under construction and scheduled to open within he next year. I think that will cause a massive glut... but what do I know?

Office space construction seems to be doing well, especially in Scottsdale. Not sure how long that will continue.

Up here in the Prescott area, there's always a certain demand for guys in the trade if they're really specialized and can do high quality work. New construction on tract and spec homes has slowed here (like the rest of the country), but custom builds are still going strong. My son does tile in high-end homes and his work continues to be steady. Also commercial construction here is going bonkers. New retail going up left and right!

From what I hear, Albuquerque, parts of Texas, and Oregon/Washington are still booming.
