Have you ever floated the Buffalo? I'm not suggesting that floating the Buffalo's a party-thing, but it just might fit the bill for something different that you are looking for. And with the rainy spring we've had, by the time you want to go, the river should be a safe but exciting ride.

The Buffalo is beautiful but you might be safer on a river in the Mo Ozarks like the Jack's Fork or Current. THose I hear have turned into one big party on the weekends. Though now with all the rain they are probably flooded. THey might be a little tricky.

I'm pretty sure most rivers/lakes in Arkansas are pretty flooded at the moment, and may still be by mid May. But, as I had it pointed out to me, Spring River in Mammoth Spring Arkansas, is a big party river. It could work as well... if it isn't flooded.
