I moved from Malvern, Hot Spring County, about seven years ago and continue to promote it when someone here is looking for a town to move to. Employment there is great and anyone who wants to work, can. They are opening a new "Special Needs" wing of the state prison and are recruiting all types of medical people as well as guards. There is a new call center which is actively recruiting. The local college (College of the Ouachita's) is setting up training programs to supply those needs.

Malvern is a 10,000 population community with a rural feel but with all needed facilities and amenities, and 30 minutes from Hot Springs and 45 minutes from Little Rock.

The Malvern Mayor is back in the local paper telling of the need for people to work in the prison and call center. For more details you may call his office at 501-332-3638. If circumstances permitted, I would not hesitate to move back there.

Would love to see Malvern rebound and grow. Spent many a summer there visiting a grandparent. Broke my heart to see empty store fronts pop up in the downtown area during the '90's and '00's. Being located just off the interstate, though, will keep it in business.

Empty stores broke your heart; today you would cry. They took out the whole city block on the north west corner of Main and Page and built a Walgreen The only building left on that block is the men's store building (don't remember the name) on the north east corner of that block. They wouldn't sell
