Any ideas? My wife has people in LR and likes it down there. Winter are really harsh up here in North East PA. We are part of Appalachia, and it's beautiful. But you can have the winters. You wouldn't want 'em though.

Don't know what or where you have in mind, but 50K will not get you much, anywhere in AR.

I have to agree with ARkslim, 50 G won't get you much anywhere. What it might get you and you would probably not be very happy is a 1 bedroom cabin or a mobile home or you could check the Delta, but I am not sure you would want that. What are you really looking for and what are your expectations?

You could buy 2 houses in Cherokee Village for that.

One of Cooper's retirement villages.

Shouldn't be too much of a problem if you're not picky.

Yeah.......

You probably gotta live in the area to really appreciate that.

Lotta nice high end to middle houses over there, then again, where else can you find a house for $15,000? You gotta feel for some of those folks.

Then again, multiple lakes, two golf courses, amenities right in town, if one was looking for a cheap getaway with restaurants and groceries a short hop away......

You can get a foreclosure in Rogers. I don't know if that would be a "gettaway" though.

OK perhaps that was too low a price. I live in the Appalachians of PA. Former coal country. It's entirely possible to buy a house in the teens or twenties. So the price might be my mistake. We are open to a mobile home also, as long as it's nice.

I have a bit of flexibility. We are looking for something pleasant. In the city but not far from nature.

Looks like a beautiful state! Nice place to get away from our frozen winters, and enjoy a beautiful spring.

I'm not but my wife is.

I don't know what areas your talking about and I do have two visiting Arkansans staying with us until June. After that we are going back down with them.

They seem to have low ball prices about Arkansas.
