Hello,

Was thinking of relocating to Eureka Springs, saw some articles that radon is high and also high in the water, especially if from a well. Has anyone had experience with this, especially by Bear Lake? thanks!

Not trying to be a smart , but lots of healthy people living in E.S. so radon must not be an issue up there, and I have not read any negative reports about it in that area.

After the above post I decided to do a Web search about radon in E.S. and the only thing I found was posted by commercial companies advertising to do radon testing on properties. Then, just for kicks, I made random searches for communities all over AR and each Web Site had the same postings. Interesting . So, is there a problem there or are some companies just trying to make a buck off those who are worried about radon

ok, wondered about that... But they mentioned something about the mines and also radon in the drinking water if it came from a well. Just trying to get information that is not biased, maybe if Realtors know anything from when they sell homes and the tests are done. Probably a better source than a company trying to pitch a service, right?

There are mines around Eureka Springs? I haven't heard that before. To my understanding its always just been a tourist town, founded around springs. There are caves, but I am not aware of mines.
