We are moving in that area and haven't chosen a house yet. We are probably going there next weekend to view some properties, but our house that we sold in Louisiana will close on September 4th, so we are going to need a place to stay for a few weeks or longer. Any ideas? I'm thinking one of the rental cabins if we can find any with vacancy. I just want to avoid a hotel and would love something with a kitchen so I can at least cook.

you shouldn't have any trouble finding a rental cabin with kitchen facilities, especially this time of the year. most of the cabins rent by the night or weekend, but i am sure some of the owners would love to lock in several weeks of rental income. we have been staying at "buffalo lodge" (just Google it) for a decade or more, in the spring. the owner has been great to deal with. on down the road in ponca, buffalo outdoor center has numerous cabins spread out over the area and they are easy to deal with also. good luck and enjoy the area!

I've found that the nicest and least expensive options for lodging are to be found on VRBO.com (Vacation Rentals By Owner). There are 11 rentals in Jasper listed on there. There are 5 listed in Harrison.
