Our cabin sits on a crest above and across from Jack's Landing...trying to figure out if we got flooded. If anyone is in that area, can you tell me what the river is doing before I tear outta here to drive up there? Wondering if the bridge going to Allison is flooded. I know Calico Rock is having a hard time, wondering if anyone knows the flood forecast for lower on the river?

One is most likely a total loss...the water has absorbed about 6 feet up the sheetrock, all major appliances gone, furniture, carpet...the water got up to a couple of feet inside before it started receding, so the oven is full of mud - so is the fridge. Not as bad as when it had to be re-built in 1982 after the flood, but bad enough. Jack's Landing across the river...all you can see is the very peak of their roof.

The Calico Rock area around the river and in the low-lying areas got hit really hard, more people built right on the river. Arkansas sure has taken a beating this year with the weather and we're just heading into tornado season. Those that hit a month or so ago were wild cards.

It's getting now where tornados are coming all year 'round. I've spent a few scary moments huddled in bathtubs here the last thirty years...and storm cellers in Oklahoma when I was a kid...but you never get used to it.

HOPE you had good insurance!!
