My husband and I are looking as condos vs houses for sale, we would be snowbirds for the winter months only until retirement in 4 years. Our concerns are safety of our property in the months we are not there. And would a condo be safer from break-ins. Thank you for any information. Also, is there any neighborhoods we should avoid to buy in. We would prefer older neighbors, peace and many trees. Thank again.

Peace and quiet and trees, you just described HSV.

There are condos near the west gate, on the north side near the Cortez golf course, and near the Coronado Center.

No such thing as a bad neighborhood inside the village.

I haven't found a need for 'pest control'. I have spiders in the house occasionally, but very few other insects.

I use Terminex and West for termite, both seem good.

I don’t know about that. I thought the same thing until I rented a place on LaVista Lane near the west gate. That area felt trashy and unsafe. Yet one or two streets over was just fine and what I expected if the village. I’d never rent on LaVista ever again. It was a bad experience.

Yes, I rode through that complex on my visit to HSV and was not impressed.
