Hello,

I am moving to Hot Springs, hopefully around Labor Day. I've been approved for a duplex rental on New Leaf Lane. Only one problem- there are no vacancies, at least not yet.

Meanwhile, I'm searching every day for alternatives. I should be able to find a 1 br in a decent area for less than $1,000/month, I think. I go to Zillow, Trulia, Forrent, Rent.com, Apartmentguide, etc. I also use several search engines and change up the terms. Pickings are slim. I could check out the Pointe as a last resort, but would like to avoid a large, three-story property as I live in one now, in Plano.

Any ideas or suggestions would be most appreciated. Btw, I did search here, both in Arkansas and Little Rock for similar situations/topics before posting.

Thanks,

Forrest

Check rentals in Hot Springs Village, you could probably find something here. Benton would be another alternative although it would be a longer drive.

Thanks for that.

Either one would work if needed, I think.

Check Craigslist and local Facebook groups for rentals as well. I found the place I currently live in on Facebook. The owner only posted it in the local garage sale group and not anywhere else online but my area is rural so we don't have a housing group, so try looking for that.

That's a good idea, too. Sometimes it takes a lot of digging.

Well, my luck took a turn for the better today. I was waitlisted and a vacancy just came up. I move in just after Labor Day.

Thanks to you and everybody else. I hope I can meet some of you shortly.
