I heard that about 5 years ago, ivory-billed woodpeckers were apparently rediscovered in the Cache River Wildlife Area in SE Arkansas.I have been following it as closely as I can,but I was wondering, have there been any new developments?

Yes, there have been.

An award of 10 million, followed by an award of 20 million, was made by the government to seek this elusive woodpecker.

Questions were raised by a number of citizens why this "elusive" woodpecker was seen by so many, but could not be found.

A couple of people contacted them and informed them that their elusive woodpecker was living in their woods.

The woodpecker seekers showed up with a small amount of money and a writ about protecting an endangered species, and said, "get out".

The woodpecker was never seen by anyone else, ever again.
