We are pescatarians (vegetarians + seafood). Could people please recommend some yummy restaurants to dine at when we are in Eureka Springs? It's been over 8 years since we've been there, so any suggestions would truly be appreciated.

I wish I could but it's been years since I've been there too. I'd love to know if you find anything especially good!

I read about the "rave" of the trout served there...it's been mentioned in some upscale mags. Thx! Although...what does trout taste like? Can you compare another fish to it?

There is a great hisspanic resturant there right off of the main road doing into downtown. I can't remember the name but when you turn off of 62 to go into downtown it is about a quarter of a mile or so on your left hand side, its before you enter into downtown. Its a small place with little parking but the food was very good!

It's been a while since I've had trout (more of a Carolina shrimp person now). Trout is a light fish, perhaps like tilapia in versatility, texture more like salmon.

Armelio's. I am also vegetarian, and there are several options there, as well as seafood options.

Hey there...I thought I would give everyone a follow-up on our yummy eats!

We HIGHLY recommend Local Flavors Local Flavor Café 71 South Main Street Eureka Springs, Arkansas Across from the Trolley Depot
My veggie reuben was excellent!!! LOTS of veggie/pescatarian options here. They are open for lunch and dinner. The portions are generous!

We also really enjoyed Ermilios Italian Home Cooking Ermilio's Italian Home Cooking in Eureka Springs, AR It should be noted to get there when they open at 5pm or sooner. We walked up at 5:10 and had a 30 minute wait. Reservations are NOT taken. We waited up stairs in their lounge and it went by fast. We ate yummy pasta primivera and ravioli with fresh tomato basil sause. Our meals included salad and bread. Try the pesto-lime house salad dressing!!!! The desserts looked great too, but didn't try any. We bought too much Two Dumb Dame Fudge Factory fudge that we ate on nightly as our sweet treat. The Ermilio's meal price was almost half that of Devito's. We opted for Ermilios as that was the place that every local recommended. The owner was a continual pleasant presence and worked just as hard as his staff.

We didn't get to eat at two places that were highly thought of by many locals when we asked about mexican food. It's called the Oasis (off of Spring Street). The catch is the Oasis is only open for breakfast and lunch. Or to try La Familia Tex Mex (off of Van Buren Street). Everyone said these are the places to eat mexican food. They all whispered to us that the "other place on the hill" was highly over priced and rated.

Another place recommended to us by the locals, but we didn't have time to stop and eat at was the Mud Street Cafe Eureka Springs, Arkansas Restaurant - Mud Street Cafe

Hope this helps the next Eureka Springs traveler!

Also, if you are in the mood to work off some of the those calories taken in from the above places...try throwing in a few hill repeats on Howell Street (off of Spring St) during your jog. The incline is so steep, you are better off walking up the hill. Your bottom will really feel it the next day (lol)!
