yes, there were many cultures in asia during and before the british rule, but once the britishers left, the number of cultures started to decline at significant rate.

That Bruce Lee guy was pretty famous. Joseph Schooling won a gold medal at the last Olympics. Hines Ward is/was a famous football player. Take****a Kaneshiro is famous in Asia. Karen Mok (Morris) is pretty huge in Asia, although she's only been in a few Hollywood movies. Anthony Wong is pretty famous in Asia too. Kiko Mizuhara is a famous model and actress. Barack Obama's sister :-p

Maybe because they aren't stupid? ROFLMAO

Especially considering the massive problems that we are beginning to see with mass migration and "diversity" in Western countries...

Wtf this is a dumb question, Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei are racially diverse they have Indians, Chinese and Malays. The Philippines has Negritos, Malays, Latinos and Chinese we, English have 600K Americans who are mostly White.living here; Indonesia has Papuans and Malays.

This is just Southeast Asia, West Asia AKa the Arab nations like the UAE which houses Dubai for example is also racially diverse with many Europeans living there.

Even India is diverse, they have Persians in the north and Tamils to the South. You clearly have no idea of Asia.

East Asia is not racially diverse though but East Asia is only a small part of Asia. Even then Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan are racially diverse even China has ethnic diversity too. Korea is the least diverse but has the most promise.

In the Philippines, you'll see that almost every one of their celebrities is mixed with some other nationality or ethnicity.

I've also lived in South Korea and Japan and China, and they all have western celebrities that are famous in each respective country. They are certainly around throughout Asia.

If you aren't hearing about them in your country, it's a reflection of your country's values, and how they aren't tuned into, or aren't interested in celebrities and such from within Asia.
I've spent a great deal of time and lived in Thailand for a while. Large white expat population in Bangkok and some in Chiang Mai.

Admittedly, the diversity issue in Thailand is different however, and is more related to ethnic groups which are "other" Asians and indigenous. For example, in the Northeast Plateau (Issan) it tends to be Lao. In the more southern part of Issan, heavily Cambodian. You have the hilltribes, especially in the North. And in the South you have a heavily Muslim population. And then there's ethnic Chinese spread throughout the country.

2nd generation Chinese American here. Asian Americans are often perceived as "perpetual foreigners" --- even though our history in the USA extends over 150 years. Heck, I've lost count of how many times when folks have asked me "Where are you (really) from?" when I tell them I'm from California...or get complimented on "Gee, you speak really good English."

Not to mention that we have to bend over backwards to show that we're "110% American" --- and are easy scapegoats or targets when the USA's relations with another Asian country turn contentious or poorly (examples: Executive Order 9066 in WWII, Red Scares in the 1950s, Vincent Chin in 1980s, Wen Ho Lee in the 1990s. Not to mention Muslim Americans all getting under suspicion since 2001.).

It's getting better than before, but I sense that Asian Americans have to prove our "Americanness" more than other American, and it's really tiresome.

Heck, India by definition is multicultural. 22 official languages recognized (plus English), and probably hundreds of dialects.

Perhaps only 20% of Dubai's population are locals or nationals. Over half of its residents are South Asian in origin.
