Celebrating with a Tiger beer. Seriously I was there when it happened. LKY wasn't very happy when it all went down. Tears in his eyes. I liked the old third world Singapore better.

Hi TigerBalm, thanks! I was transferred here from Singapore.

I love Singapore, don't get me wrong, I stayed there for 10 years and that speaks a lot. It was "a" wonderful experience! I share the sentiments of Singaporeans regarding immigrants. But they/you have to understand that it is the SG government who decides the policies. Just like massive immigrant nations (US, Australia, UAE to name a few), we do NOT expect a basket to be filled with all good apples. There will always be bad apples and the best thing to do is to let the proper authority to handle the case and let it go. At the end of the day, we're all humans and the world is everyone's playground.

Singaporelady, I kept my Singapore PR lol! Though I don't think I will be approved come next renewal.

Hi Kent Moore, no worries, i just wanted to explain that nearly every single country in this world has anti-immigration sentiment of some kind and of varying level and it all comes at different forms: online vitrol in Singapore, protest/rallies in Western nations, locals secluding themselves in gated communities in the UAE.

I am glad that you had a great time in Singapore.

Certainly we all should let the proper authority to handle the case, no doubts about that.

So long as it is all kept at a civilised discourse, every one of us can prosper.

Not sure if your PR is likely to be renewed, if you are no longer working in Singapore, i do not really know much about this; although i have heard informally that chances of renewal may be somewhat higher if your "position" is higher, i.e CEO/Chairman etc.

Cheers!
