Hi, I have a cheap unlocked Samsung phone which I use here in China for texting. The Iphone I use is for everything else. Will be traveling around other countries this summer - including Thailand, Malaysia, and then to USA for a few weeks. I assume it is easy to get a sim card to insert in my phone (definitely in Asia) but can someone also confirm for USA for 10 days. We had a Verizon Plan which was deactivated. Looking for the easiest solution.

Yes, I purchased a Samsung smartphone in China which I use in the USA with an American T-Mobile simcard.

As far as I know but I could be wrong, the iphone and Samsung Galaxy phones are quad-band phones that will work anywhere in the world. Most of your limitations are going to be 4G LTE, because not all phones support all bands, if there are any. I think the iphone is the only exception, but you should research this. But as far as calling and texting goes, Samsung and Apple are world phones
