Let's not point fingers. The same thing has happened in Korea as well.
Besides, what's so shocking about it? What do you expect from a people that was barely affected by nazism? Of course people would care less, or not at all care, about it.
Not to mention Taiwan was under a fascist regime for decades until recently, and even today we are still living under its dark clouds. The government cannot be less bothered with transitional justice, it's pathetic, but nothing surprising.
Actually, how many students in the US or Europe know enough about Japanese atrocities against other asians, like Nanking etc? Why are there so many Japanese apologists for their actions during WWII and yet these same folks go nut ballistic when Asians don't seem to appreciate the historical significance of nazism?

Exactly. Just because we have a trauma doesn't mean that everyone should have. Still, a nazi rally is tacky beyond belief.
Taiwanese generally do not care the Rape of Nanking and other bad things did by the Japanese military too.
Koreans are better in their anti comfort women stance than the Taiwanese and the Filipinos.
You should not expect them to know anything about the Nazi.

Anyone with a right mind or complete sanity is entitled to reprimand the wrongdoings of an individual or a group of people regardless of what happened in one's home country.
And don't teachers teach world history in Taiwanese schools? I don't think anyone is qualified to be a teacher if s/he lacks moral or ethical common sense.
