Cool! Okay, so foreigners can legally 100% buy condos without any problem.
How are issues with mold? Or tenants? or is AIRBNB the way to go now?
How many condos would you say, that you need to own, to comfortably live without worrying about another outside income? Live in one, and rent out two? Or with empty ones, maybe you'd need five? I don't know, I'm just throwing out numbers, as I have no idea....and I guess it depends on where they are located (but maybe even out with the expenses in popular locations for both rental prices and cost of buying compared to lower-priced unpopular areas)?

They are threatening to arrest people for doing rentals for less than thirty days here...suppose to have hotel license. Yields are low here. Some will take a 4% gross, hoping for big appreciation.

How about long-term (6 months minimum) rental options and prices for foreigners? I may be looking to do this in the not-too-distant future. Probably would prefer Bangkok. Any tips, info?
Four years, never a theft in our 120 unit building. Now they have even added CCTV. Leaving was never a problem, at all. I shut water main off, and breaker. Electric company charges 27 cents per month, if no use. We have a night guard, too.

I really enjoyed Chiang Mai. There are a lot of expats there making a living as digital nomads. May I ask if that is what you do? I have seen youtube video's of people renting places there for like 200-300 USD per month.
If foreigners are renting them out for 200 or 300 USD per month, that doesn't sound like a great ROI, based on what Tigerbeer was thinking to live off of.
How much do the condos cost and what can you rent them out for? I assume the HOA charge is super cheap no?

I was trading online before most of them were born. Most of the Digital Nomad thing is a farce. Flogging, drop shipping?? The ones selling the courses make a lot more. Most will run out of visa options with a few years.
For a studio condo fee is about 30 USD per month. Prices are all over the map...just figure on netting about 3%...doesn't get me too excited.

Ah ok gotcha.. I'm not really interested in being a 'digital nomad' in Chiang Mai. I just happened to find a lot of them posting YouTube video's. You know how youtube is - you search the following 'things to do in Chiang Mai' and voila - you stumble on all these expats posting this stuff.
I'm also not excited about R.E in Chiang Mai. My city is far better for appreciation than that
