Buddhist artifacts (dating as far back at the 9th Century) have been found in some parts of the country as well. And a 13th Century Fukienese superintendent of maritime trade by the name of Zhao Rugua described in his book Zhu Fan Zhi (translation: "Account of the Various Barbarians") talked about an island (now known today as Mindoro) where metal images of Buddha of unknown origin were scattered about in the forests...

People from the country of Ma-i were allegedly Buddhist. The Rajahnate of Butuan had a Buddhist monarchy although they had a Hindu population. The people of the Kedatuan of Madja-as mixed Buddhism with Animism that's why they called some gods Diwatas (From the Sanskrit term Devas, meaning gods) but they also retained some Native Animists gods too. Buddhism in the Philippines is fused with Animism like in Japan where Buddhism there is mixed with Shintoism.

83% Christian. 2% Chinese traditional beliefs including Buddhism, less then 0.5% Muslim.

Even in mainland China more Chinese claim to be Christian then Buddhist in many provinces. But then again, by official census, no religion is more then 10% in most mainland China provinces. Christians make up nearly half of those religious, Chinese traditional religion/buddhism is next, Islam is third. There are of course exceptions. In my Henan province Buddhism and Christianity are tied at roughly 6%
