Will answer any questions you may have about the place. Easy and cheap to get to from BKK, and even ferry service from Pattaya. A good trip..good and bad about the place..just like everywhere else.

Did you make it to Cha-Am as well?

I visited a few places down that coast including Cha-Am, Hua Hin, and Prachuap Khiri Khan.

What was some of the good and bad that you observed?

I had a reservation for Cha'am, and emailed a friend with a question about it. He told me his house was vacant, and there was a key under the mat. Private pool and jacuzzi...only went to the very mediocre beach once. A big Scandinavian vibe, which means overpriced and unfriendly, but I made do. House is on the market for 8.6 million THB..on a 4300 st lot. Land is scarce down there. Chinese are just starting to infect the area.

It was hot for Thanksgiving. I read the meter, as I was conserving my friend's electric...was using 120 Kwh per day..or about 450 USD per month! Yikes..double checked and I had read the neighbors meter. One thing for sure, I would not want a large house, ever...just keeping the footprints clear, and the dust..no thanks.

We can learn a lot about geography, but I believe rules call for English.

This comment is so true. 1) I'm Scandinavian and it makes me sad that our people behave this way. 2) I currently live in Seattle (city full of Scandinavians) known for the "Seattle Freeze" in which people are rather unfriendly, aloof, quiet and anti social. I want to retire and move away from this epidemic.

Guess I won't be spending much time in Hua Hin!

Funny, I had heard of Minnesota Friendly, but not the Seattle Freeze. The Scandanavians are the most Winter oriented tourists, even more than the Canadians, and that adds a lot of fuel to the tourist trap fire. Saw a place with grilled corn on the menu..170 THB ....they sell it in front of my condo for 20 THB..or can get three steamed for 20 at the market.
